Should you Buy a Condo?

Rural Girl Tips- Should you Buy a Condo?
“ I don’t want to pay condo fees!” If I only had a dollar every time I hear that line. My suggestion when I do? Lets sit down and do the math. Condos aren’t for everyone, but for some people they are really a fabulous alternative to owning a home.  These are my reason’s to consider this option:
LOCATION: Condos are located close to main roads, bus routes and local amenities. Suite owners can often walk to run errands, dine out and shop.  Some Condos are so well situated that purchasers own vehicles by choice, rather than necessity.
DESIGN: Space is designed well in condos to allow you to use each room. People generally love the layouts. Developers are designing to maximize square footage. We see lots of main floor open concept layouts with everything you need on one floor.
AMENITIES: Some condos off common areas which are very useful. They are, in essence, extensions of your living space. From pools to party rooms, fitness facilities, theatres, kids’ play areas and rooftop lounges, the opportunities to exercise, entertain and relax with neighbours are exciting.
PRICE: Condos are generally an affordable choice. The condo fees you pay are for future maintenance like roofs, windows and doors, snow, grass etc.
CONVENIENCE: Located close to transit and local shops and services. Some condos offer the ability to eliminate expenses such as gym fees, because residents can work out right in their buildings. Many condo residents go together to organize weekly grocery delivery, drug store delivery & often cleaning services.
SECURITY: Condo’s offer security services and operate like a neighborhood watch with people helping each other. If you travel just lock the door and leave with all of your outside maintenance done for you.
NEIGHBOURS: A condo is a vertical community where you meet and get to know neighbours in the lobby, elevator, hallways, sidewalks and amenity spaces. Condo residents tend to look out for one another and notice when anything is amiss.
INVESTMENT POTENTIAL:  A condo can be a lucrative investment. There is always a market for condos.
CHOICE: What’s your fancy — traditional, contemporary, modern? You’ll find all of those styles and more available in today’s buildings. And how about suite designs? The variety of layouts is sure to have something for just about everyone.
VALUE: Everything is relative. When you compare prices, especially with low-rise homes, remember that a condo is a great buy. Regardless of your suite’s square footage, you enjoy thousands of square footage of amenity spaces. And with today’s world being so frantic and hectic, people are opting for the convenience of the condo lifestyle.
